Small Victory Saturday

Hey guys! It's been another really tough week but I'm here and still plugging away. Things haven't gotten any easier yet but I'm taking things one day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time. Here's what I feel good about this week:

- I got through my gastric emptying study! Yay!

- I hung out with my neighbor and finally took the pink hair plunge. It's something I've been thinking about for a long time now, and I'm glad I finally worked up the nerve to do it. I had wanted it to be a bright vibrant pink (like, hot magenta) that would fade over time with some dark brown on top, but it turned out more of a highlighter color and all my previously dark brown hair turned a golden brown/ blonde and I actually like it a lot!

- Yesterday I felt a little better in the morning so I deep cleaned the bathroom. I even took a bunch of stuff from the bathroom and put it through the dishwasher because I am a little obsessed with putting things in the dishwasher. With the amount of time I spend laying on the bathroom floor it was good to get it all cleaned.

- Due to me putting things in the dishwasher I also had to unload the dishwasher twice! Sorry guys but seriously, it's the little things.

- Today I was feeling a little better so I decided to stop by my MIL's thrift store. She is going out of business and told me to come by and grab whatever I wanted, so I stopped by and ended up helping out too for a few hours. This is the first time I've left the house by myself in a few weeks (due to not having a car and being sick) so this was a biggie! Unfortunately I'm not feeling very good again now, so it'll be back to the bathroom, but I'm glad I at least got out for a little. Tomorrow we have tickets for Monster Jam so I'm hoping I will feel better for that!

I hope your week was good as well!

Update!

An update in bullet points:

- N cleaned and put up my Valentines decorations for me last week but I've been too sick to get pictures yet. Hopefully I will get pictures and put them up before Valentine's Day actually happens, haha.

- I had my gastric emptying study on Monday. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be (the radioactive eggs were surprisingly edible!) but I started having a panic attack around hour 2 of 4, and N had to drop R off with my mom and come sit with me at the hospital for the last 2 hours. I had to sit out in the waiting room the entire time (they had me come in at hours 1, 2 and 4 for xrays) and that stunk.

Radioactive, Radioactive...
 - I was supposed to find out the results of said study today, but I came down with a GI bug so I had to reschedule for Monday. That is a double whammy of suck right there you guys.

- My mom took R to dance today and then took her back to their house- where she proceeded to find that R was burning up with a fever! She's gotten random fevers before so I'm hoping that's what it is. R ate lunch and then took a long nap but woke up with an even higher fever. She's still at my mom's house and even though I am, ahem, toilet-bound with my own bug I just want my baby home so I can take care of her!

- Although my car is still completely and utterly dead (ok just the transmission but still), N got the motor in the other Commander last week and it is drivable! We even got it detailed because the previous owner traveled to a lot of oil and natural gas sites and the inside of that car was completely covered in dirt! It's a little nicer than my car (although it is a year older and has more miles on everything but the motor now) but I'm not sure if I could sell my car and keep this one instead. I'm way too nostalgic. We'll see though. ;)

- I'm still having withdrawals, and have now been completely off the Lexapro for over two weeks. It's finally safe for me to get back on the MAOI that I was on before getting pregnant, and hopefully N will be able to pick it up tonight so I can start it tomorrow. I had a phone appointment with my psychiatrist today, and yes, it had to take place in the bathroom. -_-

- It has been ridiculously cold here lately with lots of snow. I'm talking negatives and single digits all day long. But you know who doesn't care at all? Hank! He has wanted to be outside all day, and when I finally got him to come in after hours in the 5 degree weather his black coat was actually warm to the touch! I'm over this cold though. In fact, I wouldn't mind skipping Spring and going straight to Summer!

- Oh and guess what? I DYED MY HAIR PINK. Yup.

1. 4 Favorite bands you loved in high school?

This is a tough one because I was really into music in high school. I wasn't exactly "emo" or a "scene kid" (though I did called called emo a lot) but my friends are I were early hipsters. That's definitely the label that fit us best.

Taking Back Sunday (top) and Brand New (bottom) are still my two favorite bands of all time. I will never, ever get sick of the first two TBS albums, Tell All You Friends and Where You Want to Be, and I will always have an unrequited love of their lead singer Adam Lazzara (sorry N!) Brand New's first three albums are all amazing in their own way, and the second and third are just beautiful. Seriously, if you haven't listened to Deja Entendu and The Devil and God Are Inside Me you need to stop what you are doing right now and listen to them front to back. You will not be sorry.

I loved Something Corporate (top) early in high school and The Academy Is... (bottom) a bit later because SC released their last album in 2003 (hunky lead singer Andrew McMahon started Jack's Mannequin in 2004) and TAI got together 2003. William Beckett challenged my love for Adamn Lazzara for a bit, but that could never fully happen. ;) [Frame of reference: I graduated high school in 2006.]

Runners Up: Blink 182, Dashboard Confessional, The Postal Service, and Jimmy Eat World.

2. 4 go to meals you'd love to learn to cook or can cook really well?

I don't really cook (not yet at least, and when I do it's not well) but the staple meals around here that N cooks are hamburger pie, spaghetti, tacos, and some sort of chicken with cheese dish. Healthy and diverse I know. ;)

3. 4 necessities to your daily life?

My family. The Internet. Anti-nausea medication. Ice, cold water.

4. 4 makeup necessities you must have if you could only have 4 on?

CC cream, black eyeliner, brow filler (I use eyeshadow), and mascara.

5. 4 favorite apps on your phone or iPad?

Instagram- I usually use this on the daily. I love keeping up with people that I don't follow on Facebook (or other places where I can see their pictures), and I also like seeing what certain celebs are up to. Rob Dyrdek cracks me up.

Bubble Worlds- We all have to have one game we're totally obsessed with right? I've found that playing this helps reduce my anxiety. I've beaten every level but am trying to get perfect scores on them now!

Yahoo and G-Mail- Yeah I'm boring, oh well!

My interactive NHL screen gives me fireworks (or confetti if you choose the stadium background) though! Go Avs!
