Subscriptions: Julep January 2014

I wasn't going to get a box this month because I liked but didn't love the colors, but when I saw they were including quick dry drops I knew I wanted to give them a try. Of course, once I made that decision I had to add on three other colors as well. I think it's been established here that I have no self control. Anyway I haven't tried out the dry drops yet but I'm excited too. Julep also included these little buffing squares as the bonus this month. I wish they'd include things like this/ files every month!

From left to right: Mona, Margot, Noelle, Abigail, and Hope. I organize all my polishes by color and Noelle and Abigail look suspiciously like some of the other Julep polishes I already own. I'm going to have to swatch them side by side. These however have a "satin" finish that is really interesting. It's not quite matte and not quite glossy.

Here are my nails pained in Noelle. You can kind of see the satin finish in this picture. Unfortunately it wasn't long after I pained my nails that they started to get nicked. That's the trouble with these special finish polishes- you can't put a top coat on them and they nick really easily. I also had a bit of a problem with streaking with this color, but I really do like it.

If you're interested in signing up for Julep feel free to use my referral link. ;) You can get your first box for free using the code "FREEBOX" and you're able to skip any month you want!

  1. So I love the idea of nail polish but I never end up painting my nails. But I love all these metallics!

    1. This was a super gorgeous collection! I used to never wear nail polish until one day the bug bit me and now that I have so many polishes (seriously it's a sickness) I make it a point to always have polish on my nails. I think N would kill me if I didn't! ;)

  2. Ooh I love that color! You'll have to let me know about the drops.. I always have such high hopes for those kinda things and they always seem kinda "meh"... but I'm probably applying them wrong or something! haha

    1. Thank you! And I'm (hopefully) going to re-paint my nails today and try the drops. I'm hoping they work because I'm sooo impatient with letting my nails dry!
