Subscriptions: Ipsy December 2013

The bag this month is pretty interesting. It's a quilted pattern but the texture is almost rubbery? I'm probably not describing it very well but lets just say if I accidentally drove off with this on the top of my car it might still be there when I parked.

Nicka K New York nail polish: I've never heard of this brand but I'll never be not-excited about getting a nail polish- especially a full size one. I have a TON of great red polishes from Julep but I'll probably give this a try to see what the formula is like.

NYX lipstick in Iris: This lipstick is an almost-nude peach with a little bit of shimmer. I put it on and the texture was smooth and it feels very moisturizing. I'll have to try it on again when I'm wearing makeup to see what it looks like. Peach isn't really my color.

Be a Bombshell "The One Stick" in Flustered: I could probably look this up on the internet to learn more about it but meh. It seems to be one of those anywhere sticks that you can use as lip color, blush, etc. The color is a little too intense for me, but I swatched it on my hand and it's currently faded to a more subtle shade of pink. Still too much for me personally.

Pop Beauty "Bright Up Your Life Eye Shadow Trio" in Smokin' Hot: I'm pretty particular about my eyeshadow brands so I'm not super into this. I have a trio in almost these exact colors that are more pigmented, but I'm sure my sister will be excited to try these out.

Signature by English Laundry perfume and cologne: I tried the perfume on myself and it smells pretty nice. Not something I would buy the full size version of, but I don't dislike it by any means. It's both floral and sweet and smells much better on my skin than it does in the bottle. I put the cologne on N (he never wears ANY scents) and it was... interesting to say the least. This is going to sound strange but it smelled almost nutty? Maybe I'll pass this on to my dad...

BaB, NYX, and Pop Beauty swatches.

  1. At first I was in love with the colors, but after seeing the swatches I see what ya mean.. Love the bag description though, too funny!

    1. And those swatches were two strokes of the eyeshadow! Pretty in theory, but not great in execution.
